About Us

A bare 30 acre block was purchased at Lancefield in 1996. With the addition of trees, dams, vines and lots of hard toil we have transformed it into a little oasis.

In the spring of 1997 we planted 2 acres of chardonnay, followed one year later with two acres of pinot noir. In 2003 we planted more pinot noir of another clone to bring additional complexity to the wine. With careful tending the vines flourished and we produced our first chardonnay in 2000.

Our vineyard is completely family owned and operated. We have each undertaken training in viticulture to ensure the vines are nurtured appropriately. The two of us hand prune the vines during winter and tend them carefully, ensuring crops are kept low and quality high until the fruit is ready to harvest. With the help of other family members and friends the grapes are hand picked. We avoid using preservative at this stage by immediate processing of the fruit.

The wines are made in the traditional burgundian fashion with little intervention. Both the pinot noir and the chardonnay are left in a combination of new and aged French and American oak for about 8 months to develop fullness of flavour.

Our aim is to produce high quality wines at a reasonable price and when you taste them we’re sure you’ll agree our aim has been achieved.
